About the Ranger Hall of Fame

The Ranger Hall of Fame was formed in 1992 with the purpose of honoring and preserving the spirit and contributions of America’s most extraordinary Rangers. The members of the Ranger Hall of Fame selection board take meticulous care to ensure that only the most qualified Rangers earn induction, which makes for a difficult mission given the high caliber of all nominees. Their precepts are impartiality, fairness, and scrutiny.

SELECTION CRITERIA is as unique as Ranger history. Eligibility for selection to the Hall of Fame includes the following:

  • The nominee must be deceased or have been separated or retired from active military service for at least three years at the time of the nomination.
  • The nominee must have served in a Ranger unit in combat or be a successful graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger School. A Ranger unit is defined as an Army unit recognized in Ranger lineage or history.
  • The nominee’s achievement or service may be considered for individuals in a position of state or national government after the Ranger has departed the Armed Forces.

HONORARY RHOF MEMBERS

The distinction of membership in the RHOF may be conferred on individuals in the private sector who do not meet normal eligibility criteria. Honorary induction is in recognition of extraordinary contributions to Ranger units, the National Ranger Memorial Foundation, or the Ranger community in general.
